Xsylitol

The natural sweetener of plant origin, has a very similar flavor and sweetness as sugar. Xylitol, also called birch sugar – is present in many plants, fruits as well as the human body produces some very small amount.

It has a low glycemic index (GI = 7) – can be used by diabetics, does not cause jumps in blood sugar levels. It has almost 40% less calories than sugar.
